Invitation to Join a Twitter Hour – The importance of breakfast and healthy lifestyles

On the occasion of World Diabetes Day, the Breakfast is Best Campaign, a multi-stakeholder science-based campaign involving Europe’s teachers, dietitians, doctors and breakfast cereal industry, will hold a Twitter Hour on Friday, 14 November from 11:00-12:00 CET  on the role that a healthy breakfast can play in the management and prevention of diabetes and other non-communicable diseases.

If you are an interested policy maker, a representative of a health association, an expert or simply interested in how you could manage diabetes with healthy breakfasts, join Dr. Duane Mellor, Assistant Professor in Dietetics at the University of Nottingham, UK and Lead of the European Specialist Dietetic Network for Diabetes of the European Federation of the Associations of Dieticians (EFAD), and Azmina Govindji, award-winning Dietitian and Media Nutritionist, best-selling Author, Media Spokesperson for the British Dietetic Association and formerly Chief Dietitian to Diabetes UK, on Friday November 14th.

To participate in the Twitter Hour, simply tune in live on 14 November at 11am CET by following @BreakfastIsBest and #BIBGoesBlue.
We also invite you to send us in advance any questions or topics that you would like to see addressed during the Hour. Send them to or tweet them directly to @BreakfastIsBest .

If you are unable to join our Twitter Hour but nonetheless believe that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, please sign our pledge and support our mission by clicking here.
